![]() ![]() The project consists in designing viable flying wing geometries in terms of aerodynamic cruise and take-off performance. The purpose of this article is to specify the trim points for Aerosonde UAV with 6 degrees of freedom.This study has been made in the framework of a French national research project called AVECA where ONERA is responsible for the aerodynamic shape optimization of an initial blended-wing-body configuration provided by Airbus France. In the flight dynamics, the conditions of the trim is very important in the sustainability of a flying vehicle, so that knowing the conditions of the trim can be used to determine the flight limitations. In terms of the trim conditions or the static stability that is tendency to any change and velocity (angular and linear) must be constant, in other words, the acceleration (angular and linear) must be equal to zero, and the equilibrium of momentums and forces must be maintained. Knew Hence, the simulation and coding in MATLAB, which has very good results, has been used by researchers. ![]() Introduction Today, the use of simulators and software testing has made it possible for researchers to reduce the cost of operational tests and provide accurate and optimal results in the design phase and behavior of the flying vehicles. It should be noted that trimming a plane means to level the nose of a plane without using a jock or stick. The aerosonde UAVs trim points have been calculated by using the set of equations of the aircraft. using the equations of motion of the aircraft and simplifying assumptions and applying the conditions of the aircraft trim and the steady state flow condition by using the MATLAB software to solve 6 equations (3 equations of forces and 3 equations of momentums) Therefore, the values of í µí¼ ، í µí± ، í µí»½ ، í µí»¿ í µí°¸،í µí°¸،í µí»¿ í µí± ، í µí»¿ í µí°áre calculated. In general the aircraft is trimmed for straight and level flight, but it can also be trimmed for descent or even for turns. It allows the pilot to release the control input without the aircraft deviating from the intended path. ![]() ![]() Trimming is changing the stability of an aircraft in such a way that when no control inputs are given, the aircraft maintains its attitude and speed. ![]()
